Christmas fire : 5 year old girl dies in Inferno

A raging inferno in the quiet Swali area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa state has claimed the life of a 5 year old girl and seriously injured 2 others. According to Eyewitness reports; the fire started after the mother of the deceased child lit a candle and placed it on a carpeted floor and went out while her three kids were sleeping. The other 2 injured in the fire are brothers of the deceased and they suffered first degree burns. They currently fighting for their lives at an unnamed hospital in the state capital.

The unfortunate incident occurred around 9pm on Christmas Eve(Wednesday Dec. 24th) and the fire reportedly consumed some other building beside the house. The 2 surviving children were rescued by a brave...very brave neighbor who swung into action upon hearing the piercing cries of the kids.

Its unknown if the mother of the kids is in police custody.
