Female suicide bomber killed by soldiers in Gombe

Nigerian soldiers successfully thwarted an attempted suicide bombing by a female suicide bomber after they opened fire on her before she made her way into the barracks in Bolari, Gombe state.

The woman, who was wearing a hijab refused to be searched as she approached the barracks. Despite being told to stop from a distance by the military guards at the gate, she continued to walk towards them. When her paced increased, the soldiers opened fire on her, in the process, bullets hit the explosive belt the woman was wearing and she was blown to smithereens.

The blast prompted policemen to fire warning shots in the air, causing panic among residents.
